FUTERRO S.A.

Futerro is a pioneer and world leader in the development and production of platform molecules and Poly Lactic Acid (PLA), a bio-based, recyclable and industrially compostable plastic. With more than 30 years of experience in the bioplastics industry, Futerro is today the second largest PLA producer with an annual capacity of 100.000 T in Asia and is planning to become the first European producer by 2028 with an annual capacity of 75.000 T in France. This new factory will cover the entire PLA life cycle, from the renewable natural raw materials to the pure PLA pellets production, and the recycling of PLA-based materials. PLA is a drop-in solution and can easily compete by itself with PS or PET or could be modified to reach other fossil-based specifications (ABS, PP, etc. depending on the targeted application), while being with a much lower environmental footprint impact.
