Launch of the ZEvRA project

We are delighted to announce the launch of the European ZEvRA project, which began on January 1, 2024!

It is the declared goal of the European Commission to achieve #zeroCO2emissions by 2035, particularly in the electric vehicle value chain. Therefore, the Horizon Europe research project ZEvRA (28 partners from 13 countries, duration from 1st January 2024 to 31st December 2026, €11.4 million grant funding, G.A. no. 101138034) aims at improving the circularity of light-duty electric vehicles throughout their entire value chain, from materials supply and manufacturing to end-of-life processes. Polymeris is one of the 28 partners of the consortium.

ZEvRA will enable the collaboration of five big OEMs, supported by top European universities and key players from all facets of the value chain (and three 2ZERO partnership members) and will demonstrate a harmonized circularity methodology that allows for interchangeability and replicability throughout Europe. The methodology and manufacturing technologies will be supported by digital tools and validated on a full circular car, integrating 8 prototype components covering 84% of the total automotive material mix. ZEvRA’s innovations aim to improve zero emission approaches in the life cycle and value chain of at least 59% of European electric vehicles by 2035.

The kick-off meeting of the project took place at Fraunhofer IWU in Chemnitz, Germany, from 23-25 January 2024. Approximately 75 participants had an intensive exchange with each other and the project officer from EU Commission.
