Opportunities for the textile and plastics industry and innovations in the high-altitude outdoor sector: follow the ASTER project

ASTER, a European project financed by the Interreg Alpine Space program, aims to support innovation in the plastics and textiles sectors, particularly through the development of high-altitude outdoor products.

Polymeris and the 10 project partners met in Erlangen, Germany, to take stock after 6 months of the project and prepare the next steps.

April 10th 2025:

The morning was built around exchanges that enabled progress to be made in identifying key players and understanding territorial dynamics linked to textile and plastic waste management in the Alpine region.
These data will be used to produce a strategic map for the Alpine region, with a horizon of 2026.

The day continued with collaborative work on setting up an innovation support system.

The aim? To support concrete initiatives, such as the development of sustainable prototypes or life-cycle testing of existing products. A call for projects is currently being prepared.

April 11th 2025:

The morning was devoted to a discussion of the project's communication strategy.

On the agenda: boosting the project's visibility on a European scale, integrating key networks and mobilizing a community of players committed to improving the sector's environmental impact.
In the afternoon, the consortium had the opportunity to visit the Adidas campus, where the project teams were able to discover a remarkable body of work on innovative textiles and plastics, thanks to a history of the brand's emblematic products, the aim being to immerse themselves in this flagship player and understand its contours.

The next step? The launch of the call for projects - don't miss the next announcements! If you have any questions or would like to find out more: adele.maillard@polymeris.fr / julie.malaquin@polymeris.fr
