Focus on the POLYMERIS Scientific Committee: its role and missions

The Scientific Committee is the cluster's nerve center for Research & Development. Its main mission is to build the technological roadmap, and bring it to life, thus justifying Polymeris' scope of expertise. It is made up of recognized academic and industrial experts who use their knowledge to identify and anticipate scientific, technical and technological issues of priority interest in the years ahead. These members are also called upon to appraise projects proposed by members, so that they can be submitted to the labeling committee for a hearing before being submitted to the public funding body.

To find out more about the members of the committee, please consult the dedicated page: Our governance.

How the Committee works

The Committee meets 6 times a year to monitor progress on the roadmap and projects supported by the cluster. At these meetings, members are also informed of the innovation event watch and can share their feedback.

New

The 12 priority themes of the cluster's technology roadmap, drawn up by the members of the Scientific Committee for phase V of the 2023-2026 cluster, have been re-evaluated at the half-way stage, i.e. over the past year. Through an ideation workshop within the Scientific Committee, the members have highlighted innovation avenues for each of these themes in order to submit them to you with the aim of helping innovation projects supported by the cluster to emerge. These will be :

  1. To bring together members to discuss a proposed topic at TEAMS. Each member will have the opportunity to present his or her skills, interests and needs in a predefined format.
  2. Put members in touch with each other at the end of the meeting. Depending on each member's interests, they can ask the Innovation Officers to put them in touch with other members of the network.
  3. Support members in defining their projects and seeking R&D funding. Indeed, if the introductions remain fruitful, the Project Manager concerned will start looking for R&D funding to mobilize. This support may extend to submission of the project to the Polymeris label, in order to challenge the project in front of the experts of the Scientific Committee and the Labelling Committee, with a view to optimizing the chances of successful funding.

A new MyPolymeris group: “Reflections of the Scientific Committee”.

Official launch today: Polymeris members now have access to the “Scientific Committee Reflections” group on our MyPolymeris platform.

The purpose of this space is to inform members about upcoming TEAMS meetings.
