A look back at the exploratory mission in Canada organised as part of the POLREC project

Following the collective mission organized in Quebec from February 3 to 6, 2025 on polymer waste recycling, Polymeris is organizing, with the support of POLREC partners, a webinar on May 7 from 3 to 4:30 pm CET to present the Canadian plastics and rubber ecosystem as well as the business development opportunities. European and Canadian speakers will share their feedback on the mission and give an overview of the polymer ecosystem in Quebec and opportunities for commercial collaboration or investment. This webinar will also feature feedback from SMEs on their exploration of the Quebec market.

Canada, the world's 6th largest producer of plastics, has been identified as a promising market by the European POLREC project, in particular the province of Quebec, which accounts for 70% of Canadian plastics companies, 31% of companies in the rubber industry and 23% of companies in the composites industry. In the current unstable international context with rising US customs measures, Canada will rethink its trade strategy to reduce its dependency from the United States. The European Union, Canada's third-largest trading partner after China and the United States, appears to be a more reliable partner, linked since 2017 by a free trade agreement that will be presented in greater detail during the webinar.

The webinar will also showcase business opportunities with the launch of the international MarketPlace for polymers Global Polymers. Participants will be able to create a free account on the platform and post their offers or searches for products, services or expertise on the marketplace.
